Resources
For the Gardens
- American Community Gardening Association. The ACGA is one of the best resources available to the community gardens. The American Community Gardening Association (ACGA) is a bi-national non profit membership organization of professionals, volunteers and supporters of community greening in urban and rural communities. The Association recognizes that community gardening improves people’s quality of life by providing a catalyst for neighborhood and community development, stimulating social interaction, encouraging self-reliance, beautifying neighborhoods, producing nutritious food, reducing family food budgets, conserving resources and creating opportunities for recreation, exercise, therapy and education.
- ACGA Newsletter. The American Community Garden Association publishes a monthly newsletter with important and valuable information. See the current version.
- Clemson Cooperative Extension. The extension is a encyclopedia of information about anything having to do with agriculture and horticulture in South Carolina. Download fact sheets on fruits, trees, and vegetables. One of the best publications is the planting schedule. Download it here.
